A record number of people joined us for the liturgy in the Chapel on Thursday 31 July including two foundation Year 8 teachers, Mr Vince McSherry and Mrs Kate Formosa.
The Resource Centre staff created a special display in the Library, which included a giant jigsaw puzzle and book marks for staff and students.
The highlight of CEW was Councillor Laurence Bonaventura’s address at College Assembly on Friday followed by the ‘flashmob’ performance from a number of Drama, Dance and Senior students. Mrs Borg choreographed the performance which students had been practising since the last week of Term 2. It was a great way to finish assembly!
Sherilyn Haber and Anjana Baby, representing the Z Club, presented a cheque for $2000 to Mr Lyons on assembly. As an Act of Kindness, this money was raised by the school community to support the Longreach Drought Appeal.
Village Space presented two wonderful interactive presentations for our Year 10 and Year 12 students to raise their awareness of the issues facing indigenous Australians and the plight of refugees world-wide.
Village Space were guests at the Refugee Sleep-over on Friday night, the annual event organised by the Justice Action Group (JAG) and St Vincent de Paul Conference.
