During the June/July school holidays, HSC sent a team of 20 boys to contest the annual Confraternity Shield on the Gold Coast.  The competition featured 44 teams from Independent Schools around Queensland.  Over the course of the week, HSC was pooled with three schools; Xavier College, St Mary’s Maryborough and Trinity College.

After having a win, draw and a loss our boys qualified for the quarter finals of the Cup Division.  This quarter final pitted us against Mt Maria where we narrowly went down 18-16.  Two more games were completed in play-off games.  a ‘come from behind’ win against St James was followed by a loss to Trinity College.

The boys did the school proud with a number of Year 11 students eager to participate again next year.  Congratulations to VJ Aia who was named our College’s Best and Fairest for the carnival.
