Movember – A Personal Story
A group of Holy Spirit College (HSC) teachers is showing their support for the Movember Campaign to ‘spark conversation and raise vital funds for men’s health’.
For many at HSC who have been touched in some way by cancer, this is a very personal journey. HSC Teacher, Adam Vanderlinde said, “My Dad, David, was diagnosed with prostate cancer this year. After successful treatment he is now cancer-free. We made a deal that if I did the Movember Campaign he would shave off his moustache of 40 years. I’ve never seen him without one so it is a big step for him.”
College fundraising through cupcake sales and blue ribbons have also contributed to the $1400 raised this month, with the major contributors being the HSC students.
