Deputy Principal, Mrs Vicki Heggie, and Head of Department (Languages), Mrs Karen Hurford, spent ten days touring Tokyo, Kyoto, Hiroshima and Najoya during the June/July school holidays.  They visited the Peace Museum and presented more than 200 peace prayers offered by our students to the people of Hiroshima.

In Tokyo, they visited Kinjo High School and also took in the sights of Meiji Jingu, Harajuku and Asakusa – an interesting contrast of modern and traditional Japan

While in Nagoya, they were invited to meet the staff and students of Nagoya Gakuen College – the school students of Japanese had been Skyping for the last 12 months.

With hopes to organise a trip to Japan for Senior students of Japanese at HSC, stay tuned for further information!
