Year 11 PE Triathlon

To get Year 11 students out of bed at four thirty in the morning is a big task for parents, at the best of times.  However, despite the moans and groans of such an early start, the Year 11 Physical Education students, and their parents, arrived at Sarina Beach to compete in a Triathlon to demonstrate the skills they have been developing in class this term.  For some of the students, this was just their average weekend sport but for many this was their first experience of a real Triathlon.  In the end, we all had a great time.

It was a beautiful morning, most of the students had a great experience and others were just so tired they were not sure if they were enjoying it.  They all finished the race, and should be very proud of their efforts.  I think the parents had the most fun, watching their sons and daughters compete.

A big thank you to the Mackay Triathlon Club, for allowing us to enter their event.  Thank you to all the parents who transported the students and helped out during the morning.  Thank you to Miss Ellis and Ms Allan for your assistance on, before and after the event.
