On Thursday 23 April, all of the Year 9 students attended the 100 Years of ANZAC exhibition at the Mackay Showgrounds.  This wonderful exhibition displayed many artefacts and recreations relating to war from World War I to Iraq and Afghanistan.  The Year 9 students showed great respect and reverence, listening to the guides’ explanations of wartime life and conditions and asked relevant and poignant questions.  The students enjoyed the many different memorabilia, in particular the “Furphy” water tank, trench, light horse soldier and horse and the many weapons.  Many thanks must go to the organisers of the 100 Years of ANZAC exhibition, the Mackay RSL Sub Branch Inc, Mackay Regional Council and Mackay Historical Museum.
